Facebook censors cupcakes!
The picture below is a delightful and humourous celebration of women’s anatomy. It’s been posted all over the ‘net, including multiple Facebook pages — including mine. But this morning it was gone! And it’s gone from every other Facebook page I know of that had posted it.
Facebook stole the cupcakes!
Yet, countless Facebook pages continue to be littered with content that celebrates rape as humor. If you want to post rape jokes on public Facebook pages, all you have to do is label them as “humor” or “satire“ and you can rap on rape to your heart’s content. Search for “You know she’s playing hard to get when” and you’ll see that Facebook’s policy is worth bupkis.
So, Facebook allows the persistent presence of public content that assaults women’s anatomy, but it censors content that celebrates women’s anatomy.

Thanks for the post K-B! As for the cupcakes … while they are very pretty, I don’t think I could get myself to eat them but my hubby would LOVE them!
On a creepy note, while typing this comment, i feel like the cupcakes are watching me, and I swear they are moving … yep, one just winked.
They are beautiful, each and every one of them, just like the real thing.
I personally enjoy the one that has a tampon in.
Why are we so offended by the presence of vaginas, facebook? Boobs hanging out everywhere on young girls is okay, but not cupcakes? I sense some sexual confusion or frustration….
@Amy: “boobs hanging out” only when not breastfeeding! Using your boobs for what they have been made for (NOT pleasing men but feeding their babies) is “porn” and “obscene” in the eyes of FB-makers.
Mmmmm, think Mark has an issue with women? If you watched the movie “Social Media” I would say he has a blatant issue with females. But, besides that…
So upset about them censoring these cupcakes… the body is beautiful, and we were going to make them as a fundraiser for our Vagina Monologues presentation in March! Unreal.
If you find out how to reach a human at Facebook… I would love to know and be able to provide them with a piece of my mind as well. I am an Interfaith Minister… when will we realize that we are a part of the human race? One community? One village? That when one of us is hurt, maimed, killed, abused that we all will suffer? It’s time to stop … it’s time to say ENOUGH!

I found this through facebook and thank you K-B. I think the cupcakes are wonderful in part because they represent the diversity of women and the cycles of nature. Nevertheless, I think it’s pathetic FB would censor images representative of the female anatomy and wondered if they would do the same for penis shaped cakes.

This is hilarious…..the cupcakes look like flowers? oh, wait….they’re labia? all different kinds? yeah so what….. wow….not offensive at all, but their pages that celebrate violence against women get left up and this page gets taken down…. now that is really offensive.
